There are two photos of the Bf 109 after the fire had been put out and a note saying, the pilot had in his pockets Three receipts from shops in Aalborg dated 19th August 1940.

There are not that many POWs with that name who were sergeants in the Luftwaffe shot down on August 31st, 1940, over Kent.

I am just trying to help someone giving this memento to a family member who might not even be able to read English.

I really appreciate all the help I have had on this forum.
I have been writing blogs about WWII since 2009. I have reached so many people with my stories it's hard to believe.

Agreed but originally you had an approximate name and no date so all I am saying is be cautious
