Ju 88 loss at Withybrook 16.09.40

16.09.40 1KG54 Junkers Ju 88A-1 Wnr.7087 Hptm. Henke

Hi Guys,

I am currently in contact with the nephew of Willi Henke, the ill-fated pilot of the Ju 88 that crashed at Withybrook. We are hoping that some of our great forum members may have more localised information regarding the crash. I hope to travel to Nuneaton this week and photograph the grave of Willi and his Flt/Eng; Heinrich Rattay.

My contact has sent me a scan of his uncle, this will be added to our website in due course. At this time I am slowly constructing the page. So far I have the A.I.(k) Report No.555/1940 plus a scan of a newspaper cutting showing some minor wreckage in the field. If any one has anything further we would really like to hear from you.

Regards,

Melvin

If Banbury, I guess this was the target.

Thanks Rudi & Mark,

I wonder if anyone has investigated this loss further?

Any further info would be greatly appreciated by us and the Henke family!

Thanks,

Melvin
