German handwriting help
Nothing to do with aviation, but some of you guys are considerably better than I am at reading German handwriting.
Any help much appreciated. Here is what I have: Quote:

Good evening Andreas !
Thank you four your good wishes and the same back from the current wheater-uncomfortable West Germany. At visit on Christmas, I had shown my mother this sheet. She does agree with transcript's translation. The (xxxx) place she decypherd a scribbing Franzosen. So we may reed: "...Stärke Franzosen Brig. 5.000 Polen, ...." Guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr ! Ah! Now that is interesting. It should be 'polnische Brigade', but I agree that's not what I would read either. You are sure about 2 battalions of French in the last sentence, by the way? I read 3, but I always struggle with the old handwriting.

The reproduced unreadable by hand added text is "noch südlich", i.e. "still south from".
