Chris, I don't whether it exists - but current indications are that my quest is merely a faint hope that is rapidly disappearing into the ether. I might just drop a line to BA.

Dear Bill, I can tell you that as far as i have scanned through the "Findbücher" of the BA/MA, the only item of any significance is a post-war manuscript by one of the pilots. However, I do not know if it cover the period of interest to you. I suppose you have already checked out the book "Torpedos Los". The only other other possibility is that some
Kameradschaft of K.G.26 has documents in their custody.

Many years ago the Traditionsgemeinschaft der KG 26 was very active & helpful. Whether it is still active today is another matter-look at KG 2

Seaplanes. Thanks for your input. I do have a copy of 'Achtung - Torpedos Los!' No use, unfortunately.
Chris. You are correct:the old boys on all sides continue to go the way of all flesh and possible sources of info continue to shrink.

Jim, Thanks for your input. I have that book, too, but I have not yet found the incident that I am looking for.

Re: KTB 9/KG26 July 1940

Seaplanes, Thanks for your reply. Ltn Herbert Huck's He.111(9./KG26) was shot down off the northern Scottish coast on 12 July 1940 and crashed into Aberdeen's newly completed ice rink. I have read that RAF Leuchars was his target and I am seeking official confirmation of that.
