Final stage of Jagdflieger training

Please can anybody advise me, during 1942 would all new Bf 109 pilots completing their training at Jagdfliegerschule automatically move on to Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe Ost to complete their training before joining a Jagdgeschwader operationally ?

Would the attachment to Ergänzungs-Jagdgruppe Ost usually be brief - ie: lasting for a couple of weeks or would it be for several months ?

I had gained the impression that it would likely be brief and simply be an opportunity to gain an update on the "very latest" situation in operational flying at the front ?

Thanks for your advice, Peter

Re: Final stage of Jagdflieger training

Hopefully this will answer your question, although it is at the tail end of 1942. Taken from a Soldbuch to a fighter pilot in 7./JG-52
