Info needed on Me109 G6, JG27 - Lost April 11, 1945
Hey guys,

This bird was recovered I "believe" in the 1980's...

It was an Me109 G6 from JG27, lost in combat on April 11, 1945, in the area of Tilleda.

Does anyone have any further info?

I have five from I and II/JG 27, very-few details:

Bf 109K-4 WNr.334133 Dolle, Ofhr. Hans-Günter I./JG 27 Bauchlandung 11.April 1945 bei Steimke due to Flak during transit flight.

Bf 109 Alberts, Uffz. 2./JG 27 MIA 11.April 1945, cause unknown, Ort unbekannt

Bf 109G- Reutlinger, Uffz. Erich 5./JG 27 11-Apr-1945 MIA 11.April 1945, cause unknown. Raum Mitteldeutschland

Bf 109G- Reblin, Ofw. Ernst II./JG 27 11-Apr-1945 KIA 11.April 1945, Luftkampf with enemy fighters. Wickerode

Bf 109G- Twittmann, Ltn. Ernst 7./JG 27 KIA 11.April 1945, Luftkampf with enemy fighters. Tilleda/Kyffhäuser

based on other info I have found, 100% it is the last one:

Bf 109G- Twittmann, Ltn. Ernst 7./JG 27 KIA 11.April 1945, Luftkampf with enemy fighters. Tilleda/Kyffhäuser

Is the werk # known?

I hope you will allow me a slight indulgence, but as is my wont, I was locating and recording the coordinates of Kyffhäuser on Google Earth when I found a giant chessboard. What’s this about?

Coordinates: 51.422316 11.11521

It was an floor image of firm Fagus/ Seelemann in Leipzig-Markkleeberg in 2009. Client was the Kyffhäuser Tourismusverein Bad Frankenhausen. About 6 weeks the Chessboard was used for an play from an gaming community of Thuringia against the junior world champion from Thuringia.
