About a RAF cocarde : many questions ...

			Hi all,

A friend of mine showed me an interesting item : a RAF cocarde on canvas (for structure). it looks like a type D (1947 ...) ???? because the red part seems to be important. But really I do not know : please who could help ? Thank you Phil. Last edited by canonne; 18th December 2015 at 20:44. |

Phil this is similar to a Type D as ordered by AMO A.413 15 May 1947 but the proportions are slightly different, should be 1:2:3 ( ie. 30:60:90 here) but these are 30:56:84; they are the "bright" post-war shades but different to the pre-war bright shades and very different to the wartime "dull" colours which were a 1:3:5 style. I'd say a faded Type D.
