Identity B-17 crash at Plüderhausen nr. Wailingen 6.9.1943?

Dear all,

I am looking for information about the identity of a B-17 Fortress that was claimed shot down by a German fighter 2 kms S.W. of Plüderhausen near Wailingen at 10.55 hrs on 6 September 1943.

Good evening Theo,

from my notes: 42-30300, 95.BG, 334.BS came down "near Schorndorf" -this is more or less the exact location you are looking for.

Source is a stament of TTG John Gallaghers son, found on ArmyAirForces.com.

The only a/c with no known crash location on this day is 42-30161.

In case of to print the City names...

The correct writing is Waiblingen!!! The "b" is missing:-)
