Re: 16.04.1945 Borkovany
According my informations in the vicinity of Borkovany (nr. Brno, Czechoslovakia) on 16 Apr 1945 crashed a Jak-9TM Nr. 2015381 of 122. IAP (331. IAD, 5. VA).
It happened during escort sortie for Il-2s over Turany, when the Soviet planes were attacked by Fw 190s/Bf 109s. This Jak-9T collided with one of the Germans in the air and crashed in 13.35 hours. 2/Lt Konstantin S. Majenko was killed. |

Re: 16.04.1945 Borkovany
It is possible that a claim was made for this collision, but data from so late in the war is very limited.
A list of German claims by Jim Perry has 114 claims against Soviet aircraft for 16 April 1945, of which 26 were for Jak fighters (-3 or -9): _ 16 by III.(Erg)/JG 1, unknown pilot, time or location _ four by I./JG 6, at 09.18, 09.25, 12.15. No other details, pilots unknown _ two by I./JG 77, locations 71725 and 80124. No other details, pilots unknown _ one by III./JG 77, location 81775. No other details, pilots unknown _ three by I./SG 4, locations 69265, 69223 and 69892. No other details, pilots unknown |
