Re: Is this part of a Messerschmitt?

Hi,

I have seen a number of badges and don't recall any different numbers other than 9-600.260-029.24

9-600.260-029.24 is prefix designate design/drg number
1358 is the drg number
3115.4 is the material grade.

In addition there were many different designs for the front of the badges MERCEDES BENZ, HENSCHEL ETC The engines built under licence usually had their Logo on the Front and also in the early engines they just had a blank face with no logo.

Hope this helps.

Kind Regards

Re: Is this part of a Messerschmitt?

Thank you for your kind response. Explains a lot. That means the code 9-600 was first assigned to the DB 600 engine but the part design was kept without alteration throughout the successors. Otoh this explains why 8-88 coded parts appear on Ju 188s and even on Ju 388s

Yes, it was a standard part that carried over. There are also Me109E part numbers on the Me109K...DB601E parts on the DB603, etc...

Yes this is also true above:-) but there are parts for the DB605 with DB601 prefixes which do not go on the DB601 itself. Quite the veritable mish mash at times.
