Johann Fieber 6/JG 54 30 May 1943

Looking for the fate of Fw. Johann Fieber 6/JG 54 for the 30 May 1943. In Prien's JFV 12/III it lists that fieber was killed in a "Luftkampf" with Curtiss P-40, PlQu. 35 Ost/11764, 18:55 hrs, 100% Bf 109 G-2 (# 10 419).

To the victory claims in the same volume it has
Fw. Johann Fieber 6./JG 54 Curtiss P-40 (23) 20:02 PlQu. 36 Ost/11754

Tony Woods List
Uffz. Hager 6./JG 54 Curtiss P-40 20:02 PlQu. 11754

The time is probably a typo for his death and Uffz. Hager was probably a mistake in Tony Woods list but need a confirmation.

Hi

Two Messerschmitt of the 6.Staffel (Fw. Fieber and Uffz. Hager) escort some He 111 to Morin Nos. In return the pilots had a fight over the Ladogasee with six P-40 at 19.50 hrs. Fw. Fieber became hits from back in the underside and fall away in direction East (Pl.Q.11764) at 19.54 hrs (last see from Uffz. Hager). He went missing in his yellow 3+ and has possibly crashed in the Ladogasee. Short time later one He 111 was shot down by Flak and chrashed in the Ladogasee too.

Greetings Christian

Christian, Thank You! So instead of Fw. Fieber having shot down the Curtiss P-40, it was Uffz. Hager (first name?). So was Hager a wingman to Fieber? The He 111 it seems was the victim of a ramming instead of flak from Soviet records. Still some mystery to unravel from that day. How was Fieber hit from behind?
