8.Staffel / Jagdgeschwader 51 Mölders Brass Plate

Some years ago I bough this crafted JG51 decoration plate which is a great source of research for the 8. Staffel.
There are all names of the pilots engraved as well as cities they were fighting.
A lot of names might sound familiar to the JG51 specialist? (sorry for any typing errors)
Was this a gift to someone?

First, there are two dates: 19.9.43 and 6.5.1945. Any ideas what the dates means?

In the first line there are following names engraved: Nordmann (Geschwaderkommodore), Brendel (Kommandeur III.Gruppe), Losigkeit (Geschwaderkommodore after Nordmann) and von Eichel-Streiber (Kommandeur III.Gruppe after Losigkeit).

Below that are cities and areas were they served: Smolensk, Orscha, Mogilew, Starabicow, Polozk, Bobruisk, Kosink, Korosten, Sluzk, Minsk, Brest-Litowsk, Baranowitschi, Pinsk, Lemberg, Stryj, Deblin, Lyek, Südauen, Ezere, Libau, Kauen, Insterburg, Tilsit, Brüsterort, Littersdorf, Pillau, Neutief, Junkerstreudorf, Kopenhagen. It describes their fallback from the Russian front.

After that listed all members of 8.Staffel: Fritz Stendel, Otto Würfel, Gusti Müller, Helmut Kristein, Rudolf Lindinger, Günther Heckmann, Edi Stork, Pat Lüpke, Franz Zouphal, Erich Rahner, Schude, Toni Hafner, Wille Tietze, Pepi Gabl, Ludwig Strobel, Paul Brake, Kamuzki, Weissbrodt, Willi Halm, Felix Messner, Sepp Gürtler, Kurt Heinrich, Paul Hollmann, Alex Mölders, Ernst Käfer, Benno Steineke.

Would be interesting to hear your opinions. Any famous names exept the commanders? Found some DKG winners among the names.

Regards Karl-Johan

Re: 8.Staffel / Jagdgeschwader 51 Mölders Brass Plate

According to Prien, Stemmer and others JFV 12/II, there was apparently no significant event for 8./JG 51 on 19 September 1943, so perhaps it was some of the Staffel's anniversary?

6 May 1945 - likely the date the Staffel, and the rest of the III. Gruppe was disbanded.

8./JG 51 was renamed 10./JG 51 on 15 August 1944, so if there so no mention of that on the decoration plate, the authenticity of the plate may be called in question.
