26 Squadron Mustang AM148
I am trying to discover whether this aircraft was written off or repaired after the Dieppe raid. On 19th August 1942 it was being flown by S/Ldr Goodale when it suffered flak damage to the hydraulic system. Whilst landing at Gatwick without brakes the aircraft ran off the runway and into a dispersal. The squadron ORB and Norman Franks mention the subsequent (Cat B) damage, but it may have not been repaired. Any ideas?
