Order of Battle 14.Fliegerdivision April 1945
I am trying to produce as accurate an orbat as possible for 14.Fliegerdivision as at 9 April 1945. By my current reckoning it contained:
NSGr 1 (Nord) NSGr 20 I, II & IV/JG 26 II/JG 27 I & III JG 301 10./KG 200 III/KG 76 2.(N)/Aufklärungsgruppe 6, 1.(F)/Aufklärungsgruppe 123 Very grateful for any thoughts or advice. Best John |

Re: Order of Battle 14.Fliegerdivision April 1945
I would have a copy of the status report issued on 12 April, with the 14. Fliegerdivision details as of 10 and 11 April 1945. Would that be useful to you, or it has to be exactly 9 April 1945?

Re: Order of Battle 14. Fliegerdivision April 1945
The Luftwaffe strength return for evening 12 April lists the following under Fliegerdiv. 14:
Stab FAG 1I was interested that you listed 10./KG 200 on its own. Do you have some information about that Staffel at the time - was it operating independently of the rest of the Gruppe, for example? |

Re: Order of Battle 14.Fliegerdivision April 1945
Many thanks Sidney and Nick. I don't seem to be a million miles off the mark, which is a relief, but there are some interesting leads which I will need to follow up (eg. 1.(F)/33).
1. The reason I am focussing on 9 April is that is the date I have for a Luftwaffe strength return (source: Alfred Price's 'Last Year of the Luftwaffe') and I am trying to map the strengths to 14.Fliegerdivision. However, my problem is that the return does not mention 14.Fliegerdivision but lists the strengths by Luftflotte. 2. I will have to do some digging to see why I list 10./KG200 separately. Off the top of my head I can't remember! 3. I'm interested to see that NSGr 1 (Nord) is not listed in the strength return. Although by 9 Apr reduced to very few Ju 87, I believe it still existed and that by late Apr/May 45 its remaining aircraft had ended up at Schwerin airfield (Source: http://www.ww2.dk/Airfields). Simply a typo (now corrected). I meant III. not IV./KG 76.

I thought I was going potty as I was sure I had seen 'IIII' and then didn't! My post about IIII./KG76 deleted.
Changing the date away from 9 April, the following aircraft types were identified and engaged by British light anti-aircraft batteries during the fighting for crossings over the Rivers Weser and Aller: 5 Apr: Ju 87, Ar 234, Me 109, Ju 188 6 Apr: Ju 87, Me 109 and FW190 10 Apr: Me 262 and Me 109 12 Apr: Me 109 and FW 190 14 Apr: Ar 234 15 Apr: Ju 88 The parent units for the Ar 234, FW 190 and Ju 87 were probably KG76, III./KG 200 and/or NSG 20, and NSGr 1 (Nord) but any ideas for the Me 109, Me 262 (if not NAG 6), Ju 88 and Ju 188? |
