Capt. Milton H. Duckworth
20.11.1944 was shot down plane 41-28853, attached to the 783rd Bomb Squadron, 465th Bomb Group, 15th Air Force. Pilot of this plane Lt Col. Clarence J. Lokker was kiled in action.
Co-pilot of this bomber was Capt. Milton H. Duckworth. My question is. On which B-24 flying before 20.11.1944 Duckworth ? Lokker crew it wasnt crew of Duckworth Does anybody can help ?? https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/...hoto=156368361 Janusz |

Re: Capt. Milton H. Duckworth
He is listed as the pilot of 42-52539, "Southern Gal", one of the original flight crews in the 783rd BS here:
https://www.yumpu.com/en/document/re...on-association Robert M Hockman also shows up on both crews. A colorized version of 41-28853 going down is here: https://www.facebook.com/worldwarinc...type=1&theater MACR for the loss: https://catalog.archives.gov/id/91081338 |

Re: Capt. Milton H. Duckworth
Thanks for all info. It could be this one 42-52539, "Southern Gal".
Unfortunately I am a little confusion. I found Duckworth also in the crew which 13.09.1944 was over Oswiecim. Duckworth in this flight was co-pilot. Main pilot was a colonel Clark. So we have Duckworth in three different crew: In crew Colonel Lokker, in crew Colonel Clark and in crew 42-52539, "Southern Gal". Which was his own ? Sothern Gal ?? |

Re: Capt. Milton H. Duckworth
You are looking at the crews for lead ships. In the case of 41-28853,
it was flying as the lead ship for the 55th Bomb Wing on 20.11. Lokker was the commanding officer of the 783rd Sq. There is a history of the 783rd here and you can see how lead crews were made up and sometimes switched around. http://465th.org/History/PDFs/783rd%20History.pdf Also found this, which suggests that Lokker was actually hung by civilians. https://books.google.com/books?id=9c...ker%22&f=false |
