Hi to all

I am looking for information on a 56th FG pilot killed the 13/6/1944 Lt Janicke ??
P-47D-15-RE #42-76145 crashed 23KM W of Le-Mans
This pilot could be a RAF ,not sure that was an authorized flight !

Re: 13/6/44 Lt Janicke ??

Hi Flupke !

This pilot was F/Lt Zbigniew Janicki from the Polish Air Force assigned to the 61 Fighter Sqn. Apparently he had mechanical problems. His last message was he had to land. He was later reported killed in action.

Kindest regards.

Indeed, Janicki was from a group of Polish pilots attached to 61 FS. His last contact was from St. Valery area and since then nothing was heard. I have seen no confirmed information in regard of place of his crash nor circumstances. If anyone is able to fill the gap or perhaps identify codes of the aircraft, it will be most appreciated.

Re: 13/6/44 Lt Janicke ??

Many thanks to all
Janicki crashed at Epineu-le-Chevreuil (F72540) shot down by the Flak
The serial is the one posted previously unfortunately I have not his code letter .
There are no MACR , probably because he was not in the USAAF
Regards
Phil

Phil
There is a MACR, I have a copy, although not sure where it is now. No important details there I am afraid but that he separated due to mechanical trouble, and apparently went on his own. Have you got any more details, witness' accounts etc.?
