Course number 15 SFTS 10 August 1940?
I am looking for details of the pilots who joined 15 SFTS on or around this date. Most importantly where they had come from?
My interest is in LAC WVC Compton who had enlisted in the RAF as ground crew but had been selected for training as a pilot in 1940. He transferred from the maintenance pool of 5 Group (Bomber Command) which he had joined on 1 June 1940. I have his service record from Kew and it does not show any entries between 1 June 1940 (arrival at 5 Gp pool) and posting to 15 SFTS on 10 August 1940 probably to fly the NA Harvard IV but perhaps even the Airspeed Oxford, but must have had initial training between these two events. 15 SFTS was as we know for pilots who had graduated through the initial training period flying either the Tiger Moth or the Magister.
