The only loss on the 31th of August 1943 was Pilot Uffz. Alfred Wagner (KIA) of 5. Staffel (II Gruppe) due to crashing. The rest of the crew probably was able to jump out of their He111 and parachute to safety.

Regards, Thomas

Thanks Thomas, thanks Leo

Pl. Qu. 3534, it's fews kilometers NW of Yelnia. It's confirm that this plane was the one shoot down by the Normandie-Niemen this days.

Or perhaps not, do you have the time ? Because this day the 303 IAD clams 3 others He-111.

Best regards

Re: Looses of the KG53 the 31th august 1943.

Hello,

I read the report of the 29th infantry division of the guard which was on the ground in the sector. It states: the enemy aircraft repeatedly bombed the units and rear of the division. According to the reports of 15 / JG51, they were trying around 2 p.m. of He-111 and Ju-88 on Yelnia. Are there any other He-111 units involved on that day?
