Thank you again, Rudi for the photos of the Me 262s in post # 4386. These are great additions.

According to Samuel, American Raiders, p. 275 these pictures were taken at Melun on 27 June 1945 when Watson's Whizzers exhibited their German jets to "Tooey" Spaatz and his entourage. It had just rained.

Hello Rudi,
Thank you for posting this interesting photo - Post #4394.
This is a probably a Bf 109 G-14/AS. I say that because it has what appears to be the smaller oil tank found on the G-14/AS. Note also the remnants of a starboard curved refined cowling return; lower cowl bumps; deeper Fo 987 oil cooler, and large upper wing bulges. The missing electrical connectors found on the firewall would help clearly identify the engine type: DB 505 AS or DB 605 D.
