Horbaczewski 315 Squadron V-1 kills

This pilot scored at least four kills over V-1s in 1944. One source indicates two shared and two individual claims. For some reason my notes have four shared and one individual (two shared on 19 July, one individual on 20 July and two shared on 29 July 1944)? I know that sometimes a half-kill over a V-1 indicated it was destroyed over land rather than intercepted before it made landfall in England but am not sure whether this is the case here. His Mustang III shows four V-1 kills.

regards

Keith

Keith

According to Brian Cull (Diver! Diver! Diver!) your two "shared claims on the 29t July" were both full individual claims.

I have all the associated paperwork, but I am afraid I will be unable to check it in any foreseeable future. Anyway, as far as I remember, Horbaczewski had 4 kills, and another one on 4 August was rejected.

Rejected? Why? Because he was Polish and the British discriminated against foreign pilots?

Because the bomb was claimed by a number of airmen, and the board found that not everyone should get a credit. A common occurrence.
