Excuse my ignorance, but what was the meaning of the title Fernsprecher here?

Was he perhaps the main teacher for the other "Funkers"?

Cheers

I don't know his position in this flight, but his basic activity seems to be a teletype operator. There is very little in common with teletypewriters and radios and therefore I doubt if he could teach anything to radio trainees.

Matti/Nick

Thanks for the suggestions.
I can visualize some kind of teletype equipment onboard (back up to radio perhaps) but not quite a general telephone....

So Matti gets my points (sorry Nick)

Cheers

Re: Loss Ju 52 Fliegerstaffel LN/Regt. 2

Nick, Matti, Stig,

Due to the Infos (Verlust-Sterbekarten WAST) this was a Flight to the Western Front from (I believe Braunschweig -Waggum / close to the Querum Forest) with member of the LN/Regt. 2 Querum. The translation for "Fernsprecher" is Fernsprecher- Telefonisten. which means "telephone operators"

Hoping this helps a little bit....

Dirk

Then you will have to explain to me what kind of telephone was installed in a Ju 52?

Cheers
