FW 190 Recovered recently
Sorry i have no further details but i am trying to trace information on a FW190 that was recovered recently in Germany, sometime during the last few years.
I understand the remains of the pilot were also found and that the FW 190 was shot down by Russian AA fire late in the war whilst it was attacking Russian ground forces, it crashed in the Eastern part of Germany. Do you have any details on this aircraft ? Who was the pilot ? |

Hi Jon,
This link will take you to two examples of recovered FW190's - though I don't know if either are the one you're after. http://www.btinternet.com/~air_research/aarecent.htm Andy.

Thanks.
Thanks Andy.
The reason i ask is i have been given a wallet and contents recovered from the remains of a flying jacket found recently in a FW190 crash site. The wallet has a Swastika on it a also a single Luftwaffe "bird" rank badge also. In it are coins from France, Russia ,Germany and Italy together with a Soviet badge and RAD Badge. A small plate also was with it what appears to be from the radio equipment marked. Bouart Siemens Gerat-Nr 19-5721B-1 Anf-Z FL E 572102 I would love to find the details on the pilot and Aircraft does this help any more? Jon |
