Revi C/12 D

Gentlemen,
I have a question: is it possible that the REVI C/12D was mounted on Macchi C205V III serie instead of the S.Giorgio gunsight?

Alessandro

Re: Revi C/12 D

I collect Revi's and take notice of pics with them in it. I have never seen a picture of an Italian a/c with a German gunsight in it.
Perhaps after the formation of the Aeronautica Nazionale Repubblicana some German equipment may have been used, but no photographic proof as of yet.

Do you have any pics or information on Italian gunsights ( S. Giorgio, etc.)?

Regards,
Mike

Re: Revi C/12 D

Well, me and my group (Romagna Air Finders) have recovered, near Padua 11/11/06, a Macchi C205V and between the wrecks we found the plate of the Revi c/12 D.
It is possible to read:
Revi C/12D
Bauart C. Zeiss Jena
Gerat-Nr.-127-22D-1
WerkNr.18367
Anf**derz. FI52095
Hersteller (?) OMW.

I was convinced that italian aircrafts were equipped only with the S.Giorgio gunsight but,is clear , I was wrong!

If possible I'll post a picture.

I agree...we found few plates written in German!
