Streak This is the Mission 298 Summary from the 92nd. Association. It says they had the MACR but not available; Weaver's loss given as about 12m N. of Brunswick.
42-107044 NV-L 325BS. Scroll past the photos.

Hello Nick,

Thanks for your reply and the Infos regarding the loss of the "Weaver Crew"...it is very strange, that the MACR and also the KU Report for this Loss is not available ...
The same Day and just 30 Minutes later a second Loss (Lt. Harris Crew B-17F 42-30649 / 92BG 327BS) happened in same Area... it seems that the MACR 3668 is also not available.... KU Report 1473 exist and is correct.....

Thanks and greetings

You may be able to purchase a copy of the MACR from the AAIR database.

Re: Loss B-17F G 42-107044 1st. Lt. John R. Weaver

Hello Dirk,

the crash of the 42-107044 south of Isenbüttel was registered with the casualty no. KU 1434.
In a distance message of the Air District Command XI to the Information Center West Oberursel on 17 April 1944 with the subject "new crash places of 11 April 1944" is listed:
"KU 1434
1104 Uhr 1 km S Isenbüttel W Fallersleben GB 44, Boeing 98% Bruch. Kennzeichen am Rumpf L Stern NV. Seitenflosse schwarzes Dreieck mit weißem B, darunter nur 0744, darunter L. 2 Tote 7 Gefangene, Waggum birgt".

You find this document in the file KUJ 827, the casualty no. for the downed P-51 B 43-12319 at Vorsfelde on 11 April 1944.

The casualty no. KU 1434 was initially incorrectly assigned to four crew members of the B-17 42-31497 (2nd Lt Hesse, 2nd Lt Gatewood, 2nd Lt Bach and Sgt Hollenbeck) which crashed near Weißwasser (KU 1452).

Regards
Leo
