NJG 2 Claim for a Wellington on 6th July 1942

There is a poor one in Heinz Rokker's book. Trouble is he didn't survive much longer:


The following night (22 Jul 42) saw another 40 Sqn Wellington being attacked three times by a Ju 88 while attacking the same target as the night before, the rear turret being badly damaged in one of the attacks. Sgt R King managed to return to base but crashed overshooting Shalufa on its return. The Rear Gunner Sgt Allan Macaskill was killed and it is possibly he who killed his attacker. Hptm Heinz Harmstorf was credited with a Wellington at 2250hrs but then received a mortal wound to his head from a burst of gunfire from his victim. His Bordmechaniker Uffz Cornel Schiffbänker, although wounded himself, managed to land the damaged Ju 88C-6 at El Quasaba
