NAGr. 15 or not?
The book *Point Blank: October 1944* lists two losses as belonging to 1./NAGr. 15.
On 15 October 1944, Lt. Friedrich Drexel’s Fw 189 A-2 (V7 + 1A) was hit by Soviet flak and made a forced landing. According to the career database, Lt. Drexel belonged to 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 32; the unit code V7 also belongs to this Staffel. On 8 October 1944, the crew of Ogefr. Heinrich Fellner went missing in their Fw 189 A-2 (V7 + 1K). Based on the unit code, he also belonged to 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 32. I believe the RL records for this period are not yet available on the INVENIO website. Does anyone have more information regarding which unit these crews belonged to? Thanks in advance. |

Re: NAGr. 15 or not?
On Invenio you should be able to find the files in the RL 2-III series for Personal- and Materialverluste (Aufklärungsverbände) 1941–45. These don’t give names or aircraft details but will tell you whether a given unit lost men or machines on a particular date and whether it was in combat or not. In the same series you should be able to get strength figures for 10 and 20 October.
Figures for aircraft joining and leaving NAGr. 15 are here: http://ww2.dk/air/recon/nagr15.htm and 1.(H)/32 is here: http://ww2.dk/oob/bestand/aufkl/b1ag32.html (both also on Invenio). |

Re: NAGr. 15 or not?
Well, Nick, you're saving me a lot of time with these links. I searched high and low yesterday and found nothing on Invenio. Many thanks—it is very, very much appreciated. Kind regards, Dirk
