RAF Circus missions in July 1941

Does anyone have any notes on each 'Circus' mission carried out?

I would be particularly interested if any Circus was directed over the Cherbourg area in July 1941.

From what I have read it seems that most Circus missions were across the narrowest part of the Channel in view of RAF Fighters limited range?

Thanks

There were no Circus operations over Cherbourg area in July 1941. In this month there were only two day-bomber operations over Cherbourg:
14 July - Gudgeon III over Le Havre and Cherbourg (one of the escort squadrons was 118 Sqn)
24 July - Sunrise I and Sunrise II (Cherbourg)

Regards

Greg

Thanks Jerry & Greg.

I should have asked about 'Rhubarbs' and fighter 'Sweeps' too over the Cherbourg area in July 1941. Any info on whether such ops occurred in the area in July would be gratefully received.

I must admit I get confused over the difference between these ops and Circuses!
