KG30 17 june 1940. P/O G E Goodman. No 1 Squadron

Good Evening,

According to this source:

http://www.lancastria.org.uk/General...eder_i_30.html

"... a Junkers 88 " from another Gruppe of KG30, was shot down."....

This could match with an uncertain claim for a twin engined aircraft destroyed by No 1 Squadron P/O Goodman at 16h30 in the vicinity of St Nazaire.

Does anyone know if KG30 suffered such a loss on this very fatefull date ?

Thanks a lot.

Bernard.

It would appear that I/KG 30 attacked and sank the Lancastria on 18 Jun 40. The BO of Oblt Sigmund Frhr Von Gravenreuth was killed, two aircrew from a 3/KG 30 ac were wounded and another Ju 88 crash-landed back at base, courtesy of a French fighter

Hi

Goodman's victim could possibly have been either :-

Ju.88A of 3/KG.30 which was 2% dam with 2 crew wounded - Loire - LK
or
He.111 of 5?KG.1 which was 5% dam with 2 crew wounded - ? - ?

cheers

Greetings: Wondering Chris, is Oblt von Gravereuth the same man who died as a Zerstorer pilot,I think as St/Kpt. of 15(Z)/LG-1 in Sept.1940? Cheers! Dean.

Thanks to you all,

I think this could be the one for Goodman reported about a Heinkel.
I will keep you informed if I manage to have any certitude.
