FW-190D Tail

With all the craze in 190D books the last few years or so, I have never seen this piece mentioned. It's on display at the NMUSAF in Dayton, OH.
Looks to be all original, paint & all. Any ideas which one it may have been?

Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,

Have you by any chance taken that photo from the relic section of www.axisaircraft.com and removed the credit given on the photo?

To answer you questions, yes it is a genuine artefact, unfortunately the NMUSAF do not know from which D-9 that relic comes from.

Best regards

Hi Mikael!

Do you know a software to enlarge mini pictures (on your website) to such a great size and quality as the picture attached by Mike?

I think Brett Stolle (owner of the picture on your website) was not the only one who made pictures of that section!

Mike thank you for posting that picture. Great color reference!

Cheers, Simon

Perhaps I should mark the photo so you don't use it?

I also have several other pics showing it from various angles.

Regards,
Mike

Re: FW-190D Tail

Mike, if one looks closely at the 2 photos, one can see that they were taken at a slightly different angle.

In your photo the RAF officer's thumb is over top of the rivet while in the other the rivet is clearly seen.
