LW Spiess

Quick questions...What rank would a Spiess be. I heard it was either one of the following Oberfeldwebel or stabsfeldwebel. Thanks Greg

'Spieß' would have been designated as 'Hautpfeldwebel' - but this wasn't a 'rank' - it was an 'appointed position' -typically an experienced 'Oberfeldwebel' but anyone from 'Unteroffizier' up to 'Oberfeldwebel' could fill this position.
