P-38L 44-25786 14th FG Survivor

Anyone know the details of the loss of this 14th FG P-38L shot down 4-2-1945 and how it's remains were recovered and placed in a museum in Belgrade???

Landed in emergency on Sombor a/f after damage by flak over Austria.

Old request I know, but just recently I found this:

Here is official report about crash, pilot Cpt. Micheal Brezas was reported as MIA:

This larger picture was published in book "P-38 Aces of ETO/MTO" :

Brezas later said that the Soviet forces were very unfriendly. I do not know if those were real Soviet forces or Yugoslav partisans. He was first transported to Belgrade, and then back to Italy.
