I/SKG 10

Before I start finalising my book, can anyone confirm whether there was a Gruppenabzeichen for I/SKG 10 (or NSG 20) and whether a KTB for this unit exists?

And was it not III./KG 51 between I./SKG 10 and NSG 20?

Jaap

Yes it was but for a short time. I have all of the losses etc but as you know with 1944, you can never be too sure!

Re: I/SKG 10

So far as I know Chris, the nearest thing to a KTB is a c. 75-page narrative of NSG 20 and its predecessors that they have at BA-MA Freiburg that Dahlmann seems to have written. I took a look at it when I was there way back but I don't have copies of it. (DM 75,- was a lot of money to me in those days!)

From memory it was rather short on specific dates and so forth.

Nick: I have that document and if you read it carefully, is excellent hence is a basis for the book and a ready reference for the Author!

Title not yet decided-Nacht Jabo; Luftwaffe's Fire Brigade could be 2 possibilities but it is up to the publisher. However, when confirmed, i will inform all via this Forum. I should say that things are going well and I am quite pleased so far (over 20,000 words so over half way)

Re: I/SKG 10

It will not be as vivid as 'Tip & Run' as all that occurred took place at night, one combat was very much like the rest and there are much less eye-witnesses/survivors but it will cover something that has not been written about before. MS has to be with the publisher in April
