Question OOB 13th VA during Karelian Offensive 1944?

Does anyone have a OOB for the soviet 13th Air Army during the soviet summer offensive on the Karelian Isthmus in 1944? Down to regimental level and including plane types?

Thx in advance.

Re: OOB 13th VA during Karelian Offensive 1944?

Concerning 13VA, I have the following infos:
13 VA:
275 IAD (already mentioned below) : 14 Gv.IAP (Yak-9), 29 Gv.IAP (La-5, Yak-7b, Yak-9), 159 IAP (La-5, LaG-5), 191 IAP (P-39), 196 IAP (P-39)

New info:
283 IAP (Yak-7b)
13VA altogether on 1st of July:
101 bombers, 260 Shturmos, 299 fighters.

PS: Another thread shows data for 7VA during this operation:
http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showth...6945#post26945

KBF and 2.GIAK were also involved .

Hello!

I think 191 IAP flew with P-40 (M?) at the time and did not have P-39s at any time.

IIRC they had some La-5 fighters too, but they (an eskadrille or so?) flew with - or were attached to - 159 IAP during the Viborg operation. I am not able to verify this recollection right now.

Re: OOB 13th VA during Karelian Offensive 1944?

IIRC 7. VA was further north, 19 and 20 GIAP somehow reminded me of "Murmansk".

Next problem - which subtype was exactly used? I mean there were vanilla La-5, then there was the La-5F and finally the La-5FN. Same for the Yak-9 with vanilla Yak-9, Yak-9D or Yak-9T (just to name the most probable types).

Re: OOB 13th VA during Karelian Offensive 1944?

Hello
time only short comments
on La-5s, I asked that from Andrey Dikov, a KBF air units specialist 1½ years ago, and he answered that 4 GIAP flew at least from battle of Narva (Feb-March 44) onwards La-5FNs, he was't sure on 3 GIAP but supposed that it also got La-5FNs before Jan 44.

On 191. IAP, I took the info straight from Haapanen's Kesäsota but Kari is right, I checked Stenman et al LeR 3, and from its claims and losses appendices one can see that 191. used Warhawks and La-5s. I should have remembered the Pärssinen and Miettinen case!

Re: OOB 13th VA during Karelian Offensive 1944?

A bit more, straight from Haapanen's Kesäsota, I don't have time to cross-check.

276. BAD all with Pe-2s
34. GBAP
58. Red Banner BAP
140. BAP

Subordinated to 13. VA

113. DBAD all Il-4s
815. DBAP
836. DBAP
855. DBAP

281. ShAD all Il-2s
448. ShAP
703. ShAP
872. ShAP

334. BAD, all Tu-2s, but BAPs unknown

283. OIAP Yak-7B

OK, running out of time, more to follow

Juha
