What were the colours used ? was RLM 70/71/65 still the base colours & then overpainted?? what was the W.Nr? and are there any photos of said aircraft?..just for clarification..it has a snake down the fuselage sides.

Best regards and thanks in Advance

Re: Help req please? :)

Hello...

I made a model of this machine some time ago. A model shop outlet called ED Models, in England, produced a set of markings which were at one time more available than now, in 1/72 scale, and the undernoted information comes from their documentation that accompanied the markings, the research for them having been undertaken by Les Whitehouse:

" Junkers Ju87R-2/Trop - aircraft of Leutnant Hubert Polz, Tmimi, Libya, August 1941... T6+CP carrying 'Sand Snake' marking of II./St.G.2. Recorded in August 1941, the aircraft was camouflaged in Sand 79 and Green 80 splinter pattern on wings (and tailplane, all field-applied and of non-standard layout) and sweeping bands on the fuselage in the same colours. Snake pattern was applied in White 21 so that the camouflage showed through as the snake's patches. The head of the snake only had the first two patches at least fully painted in the later production Sand Yellow 79 ( a Tan rather than a Sand shade). Walkways were very scuffed down to original Green 70/71 pattern."

I also seem to remember a 1/32 scale Revell kit of many years back, which had the snake's body in white, with the scales picked out in red, and red detail around the head, so there may well be two differing representations of this colour scheme. What the Werk Nummer was, and whether or not there were two differing schemes, and whether or not they were the same pilot's motif in both cases... well, unfortunately I don't have that information. I'm sure that someone out there will have, though.

Hope this is of help to you...

Regards

Hello Sparty

I have a profile and a number of pictures of a scale model. I can't post them here because this forum limits the number of pictures you can post.
If you would like these, please PM me with your email.
Cheers

Chris
