Hurricane P3047
Does anybody happen to know the individual letter of this aircraft (JX-?) when lost on 15th August 1940?

Re: Hurricane P3047
Hi,
"E" is given in FCL vol 1 revised version - Pilot F/Lt. M.H.Brown DFC., rescued by Trawler after he baled. But that does not guarantee that the Squadron code "JX" was also carried. Perhaps someone can confirm with photographic evidence or other means if it was. Also name of Trawler would be nice and perhaps Skippers name too. Alex |

Re: Hurricane P3047
Many thanks Alex, that's enormously helpful!
But surely the squadron codes would have been carried by mid August? I had thought that 1 Sqn had had squadron codes reapplied after the return from France. |
