III./SG 4 in Normandy, June 1944

I've added an article about III./SG 4 in the Battle of Normandy to my website this evening. So far it covers the period 6–15 June 1944.

Nick, great stuff. Is this 'live' project and are you interested in any Allied data?

Hi Franek,

It wasn't really a project at all but I found several messages about SG 4 from a short period and when I put them together, they made a story.

If I find anything more next time I'm in the archives, I will include it (the unit was withdrawn to Central France in the second half of June, so there may not be much more).

I appreciate your kind offer but there are other things I must get on with and so it might be a long time before I made use of it.

New on the Ghostbombers site tonight is an expansion of the III./SG 4 in Normandy article:
  • New material about 13, 14 and 15 June 1944
  • Continuation of the acount through to 9 July 1944 when the Gruppe was establishing itself in Latvia along with the rest of the Geschwader.

Nick, inspired by the last paragraph, I have compared your article to Frappe's losses, and I am confused to say the least!
