Eine Bilddokumentation der Lw 1935-1945 - Zerstörer und Nachtjagdverbände

Hi all,

can someone write me what units covers the book "Die Deutsche Luftwaffe, Tl. 3 - Eine Bilddokumentation der Lw 1935-1945 - Zerstörer und Nachtjagdverbände" from Meyer/Stipdonk ?

Christian Schmidt buchhandlung does not mention units

I am looking for ZG 76 photos from 1943-44.
Thanks

Nothing in this volume, but since the series covers the Zerstörer and Nachtjagd units in numerical order, I suspect volume 4 will be of interest to you.

According to a thread on LEMB, the authors have received the printing proofs from the publisher, VDM Heinz Nickel. It should therefore be out within a couple of months.

I checked the VDM websites (vdmedien.com and vdmedien.de), but they aren't up-to-date -- volume 3 in the series hasn't even been listed yet.

Peter
If you are looking for ZG76 then I believe that you will have to wait for Volume 5. Volume 4 is primarily devoted to ZG26. Paul Stipdonk is about 50% complete with Volume 5 but I doubt if it will appear before next year.

Hi Del,

Thanks for the update on the contents of volume 4 -- that's good to know.

BTW, it's rumored that Michael Meyer is disposing of his extensive Luftwaffe photo collection. If so, do you happen to know the circumstances, and how it affects future volumes in the series?

Regards,

Hmm, if this is true, I would aim at his ZG 76 collection if there is any how we can find out whether it is true and got in touch with him?

Re: Eine Bilddokumentation der Lw 1935-1945 - Zerstörer und Nachtjagdverbände

Peter / Leon
My contacts are with Paul Stipdonk and not Michael Meyer. I can tell you that Paul was also attempting to sell his collection of some 10,000 photos last fall but I do not know if he was successful. He was trying to sell the photos as a group and not individual segments. He also recently acquired another collection of over 2000 items . I think they may be turning over their stock and it should have no impact on the series. As I recall both of their emails are listed in the books so I would suggest that you contact them directly. I think that Heinz Nickel's decision to eliminate English photo captions from future volumes may have a greater impact on the future of the series than the authors. I know they plan to move on to other segments of the Luftwaffe after volume 5 or 6. One future book is supposed to cover rudder markings
