I doubt you will find any bargains by "shopping around". Schiffer very zealously controls the price and sales of their books, hence you never see them on Amazon or any other discount source.

They do produce good books, for the most part, but, IMHO they are generally over priced.

Some photo heavy books might be considered overpriced but e.g. Bill Wolf´s US bomber books, Zichek´s XF8B-1 and Dean´s AHT deliver tremendous value. Especially the AHT is book that one can´t be without.

If you want really overpriced books, try some armour related booklets by an Aussie company: a lousy 32 A4 pages in softback for an effing US$30! I.e. that´s nearly a dollar per page whereas Dean´s AHT delivers one page for each 10 cents.

AHT= "America´s Hundred Thousand" by Francis H. Dean. 608 pages of first class material for $60.
