Spitfire AR218 collided with Miles Magister R1977
It was told by one of the 131 sqdn ground staff that Henri Picard was the pilot of Spitfire AR218 which collided with the squadron's Miles Magister 'hack' R1977 on 28/9/41 at RAF Atcham. The two occupants of the Magister, P/O P Chub (65521) & Sgt S.D. Lee were both killed. Can someone confirm this.
Best regards, Serge |

Re: Spitfire AR218 collided with Miles Magister R1977
Atcham ORB says "Spifire of 131 Sqdn apparently failed to see Magister on the runway and collided with it when just airborne and killed two occupants of Master."
P/O P Chubb (not Chub) was one of them but I cannot confirm the name of the other. I am sure that someone else can! |
