Alfred Börst shot down by Archipenko, not by Flak?
As I am a little bit of a "Bessarabia-freak", I maybe found out something...
Börst was reportedly shot down by Flak near Parliti on 30.03.1944: http://www.ritterkreuztraeger-1939-4...erst-Alwin.htm Archipenko claimed a Ju87 over Pyrlitsa on 30.03.1944: http://www.airaces.narod.ru/all1/arhipenk.htm Now, if you search for Parliti, you will find out that it is also called Pyrlitsa: http://www.fallingrain.com/world/MD/0/Pirlita.html ==> After discussing with Sherlock Holmes and Mr. Spock ![]() Questions to bring more light into that: - Did any detailed report about Börst's death survive the war? - Are there other known losses of Ju87's from SG2 or the ARR on that day? |
