KG26 Losses 11.9.40
Hi could anybody oblige with the usual loss details for the following a/c.
Looking for crew names where known. 11.9.40 KG26. He111H-3 W.Nr 3215 1x Killed, 1x wounded, He111H-5 W.Nr 3540 1x Killed, 2x wounded, Flgr Platzl? He111H-4 W.Nr 6977 1x wounded. Any help would be most appreciated. Best regs, Steve. |

1./KG26 Heinkel He111H-4 (6977). Returned damaged in fighter attack during sortie to London. BF Gefr Johannes Fritzsche slightly wounded, rest of crew unhurt. Aircraft 1H+EH 15% damaged but repairable.
2./KG26 Heinkel He111H-3 (3215). Crashed in the Channel badly damaged in fighter attacks during sortie over London. BF Fw Walter Horn killed, rest of crew rescued by Seenotflugkdo. Aircraft 1H+JK 100% write-off. 4./KG26 Heinkel He111H-5 (3540). Returned damaged following attack by fighters during sortie over London. Pilot believed unhurt, HS Flgr Walter Patzl killed, BM Uffz Erich Scheinert badly wounded in legs, BM Fw Richard Hermann slightly wounded - both admitted to hospital in Breda. Aircraft 1H+CM 30% damaged but repairable. |
