Schuck-Kolben RAF
Hi guys
I've just been reading on a website about a former RAF pilot by the name of Gerhard Paul SCHÜCK-KOLBEN (“Gerry”), who was born in Austria. The article mentions that he flew Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain with 312 Squadron and in Greece and Crete (1941) He later flew Spitfires and apparently claimed two aircraft shot down including a FW190. He was also shot down twice, once into the North Sea and was in his dinghy for 30 hours before being rescued. The second time he was injured (this was close to the end of the war. Can anyone throw any light on him, assuming he didn't fly under the above name! Cheers Brian |
