III./KG77 Unterstab?
I have recently purchased a set of documents to a Fliegerschutzen who served in (among other Geschwader) KG77.
The document for his promotion to Oberfeldwebel lists his unit as 'III./Kampfgeschwader 77 - Unterstab'. I have not seen the 'Unterstab' unit designation before, to that effect can anyone shed any light on this? All help will be very well received indeed. Regards Richard.
