2.Erg./Jagdgeschwader 53
After purchasing a small set of doucuments relating to a Flugfuhrer in JG53, I noticed on Tony Wood's 'Combat Claims and Casualties' site that he acheived his first kill serving in '2.Erg./Jagdgeschwader 53'.
Was the 2 Staffel of JG53 always an Erganzungs Staffel or was this a temporary measure at the time? Or was it a different set up that I imagine? Any help will as always be very well received indeed. Regards Richard.
