He 60 lost on 2 October 1941
The He 60E WNr 0314 1R+UH of the Kurierkette beim AOK Norwegen went missing on 2 October 1941 during a routine flight from Kiestenki (now called Kestenga, in Russian Carelia). German sources gave his destination as Utsa, that is possibly Uhtua south of Kiestenki.
Both crew, Gefr. Herbert Schwarz (pilot) and Uffz. Matthias Cremer, went missing with this aircraft.
My various sources agree on the above, but I made today a search on the Volksbund database to check if a more precise death/missing location was given for these two men.
There are a Gefr Herbert Schwarz and an Uffz Mathias Cremer buried in Rovaniemi war cemetery, but their death date are listed as 16 October 1941.
I guess the two men buried there are the same two as in the He 60, so their remains and probably the crashsite was found, after they were posted missing.
I wonder who had the date wrong, the Volksbund or my loss list ?
If anyone had a trace of the finding of this aircraft, I will be interested to confirm the date of loss, and to know the crash location.
Thanks in advance
Laurent
