Polish AF amputees 1942/43

Hi guys

Perusing 307 Squadron's website, I noted an unusual crewpairing at the beginning of 1943 - Flg Offs Roman Grzanka (pilot) and Juliusz Baykowski (nav) - both of whom had lost a leg.

Has anyone details of how and when they lost their legs?

Cheers
Brian
