A beautiful DO217 vertical fin
I can't help sharing this picture with you.
On 12 July 1944, two DO217 crashed in the French Pyrenées, they probably collided while flying together. Look at this beautiful camouflage. This part belongs to a friend of mine; he found it in the 70's in a barn next to the crash side. The swastika was deamaged by local people at the time of the crash. My friend divorced five years ago, and he left this fin in his ex-wife house when they separated. He now will try to get it back (the part, not the wife!). He fears she might have got rid of it ! fingers crossed... All the best. GC Last edited by gilles collaveri; 28th May 2013 at 10:05. |
