Looking for further info on 9 Oct 39 He111 incident for KG26 He111s

Hello,

Peter Cornwell has revised our EoE Luft loss DB for these incidents:

"9 October 1939 Move from Home Front to: North Sea Operations Amend: I./KG26 Heinkel He111H-3. Abandoned prior to landing at Lübeck-Blankensee airfield due to undercarriage failure on return from attack on elements of the British Fleet 50 miles south-west of Bergen 3.20 p.m. Crew baled out unhurt. Aircraft 100% write-off. (Weiss)

9 October 1939 North Sea Operations Amend: 4./KG26 Heinkel He111H-3. Belly-landed in dunes on the island of Fanø in Denmark out of fuel following unsuccessful sortie to locate and attack elements of the British Fleet 5.05 p.m. FF Oberfw Hans Immel, BO Lt Werner Wanderer, BF Gefr Kurt Büchner, and BM Uffz Anton Brunner all interned. Aircraft 1H+LM 100% write-off. (Weiss)
Anton Brunner was slightly injured in the foot and admitted to St Joseph Hospital for treatment. The entire crew was later held at Hald, near Viborg, where they remained until Denmark was occupied by German armed forces on April 9, 1940.

9 October 1939 North Sea Operations Amend: 4./KG26 Heinkel He111H-3. Belly-landed near Nymindegab in Denmark out of fuel following unsuccessful sortie to locate and attack elements of the British Fleet 4.45 p.m. FF Fw Fritz Baldauf, BM Uffz Erich Scheinert, BO Uffz Hermann Gutacker, and BF Oberfw Adolph Friedrich Düring all interned. Aircraft 1H+NM fired by crew - 100% write-off. (Weiss)
This crew was later held at Hald, near Viborg, where they remained until Denmark was occupied by German armed forces on April 9, 1940."

Can anyone provide further information about these three incidents, including W.Nr. of any of the three a/c, and photos of the two a/c belly landed in Denmark? John Weal has profiled 1H+NM in his book "He111 Kampfgeschwader in the West" (P. 40), so apparently photos do exist of this a/c.

Regards,

Larry Hickey
