He115 lost 30 May 1942 Convoy PQ16??
Hi guys
An eyewitness on one the escort vessels during Convoy PQ16 to Murmansk reported seeing a He115 crash into the sea near his ship on 30 May 1942 - "it swerved off at about 100 yards range and crashed into the sea with a splash like a leaping salmon". I can't find a loss to match! Although a He115 of KuFlGr.906 is shown as being lost four days later. I wonder if there was a delay in reporting the loss? I'm sure/hope 'Seaplanes' will advise!
