The Dornier Do D Ris (n//c 57) with a Rolls Royce Eagle IX was ordered probably by the Kawasaki Dockyard and Co. Ltd.. It was handed over to this company, on the 29 october 1924. Next year, between june and august, the Do D took part in a competition organized by the Imperial Navy and won all the trials !
But meanwhile, the Navy had changed its program and its needs...
